Vinca minor 'Atropurpurea', also known as Periwinkle or Creeping Myrtle, is a popular ground cover solution. This evergreen trailing vine spreads quickly. Leaves are glossy green. Burgundy flowers, about 1/2 inch in diameter, appear in early spring and may re-bloom, but with less abundance, in summer and fall. Mature height is 4 inches to 6 inches. Drought tolerant. Deer resistant. Thrives in full sun to full shade . In warmer climates, it should be planted in partial to full shade. Tolerates a wide variety of soil types and pH levels. Space from 8 inches to 12 inches apart.
